FEATURED FOSTER DOG
Meet Wicket W. Warrick named after his look-a-like, Wicket the Ewok from Star Wars! This young little scruffy guy came to DDRTX from the Austin Animal Care Shelter as a stray.
Wicket is a silly little guy. At seven months old, he has already learned what he likes and doesn't like. He likes playing with small dogs but does not like big dogs at all. He likes "Mom" humans but does not like "Dad" humans. He likes being close to where everyone is in the home and does not like being left out. There are quite a few things on his Love List: he loves laps and cuddles, he loves playing with toys, he loves running around the yard, he loves barking at noises, and he would love a forever home!
He's really gotten the hang of the harness and leash, loves cuddling in the big bed but will sleep in his own doggy bed too. He's a very curious puppy and his dachshund really comes out when he is "sniffing a trail" and will explore the house and yard with excitement.
Wicket is looking for his special forever home - are you his special home? Please put in your application if you would like to meet this spunky little frisky boy!
What is DDRTX?
Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a rescue organization, operated primarily volunteers, in the heart of Texas that is dedicated to the health, welfare, and happiness of our dachshund friends. We are based in Central and South Central Texas and have volunteers in many parts of Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions, which are a necessity in order to continue to be able to pay the costs of veterinary care and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund has rescued, rehabilitated and placed from 100 to 200 dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 2003. We strive to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs so that the placement is permanent and both the dogs and the families who adopt them are equally happy.
